Jenna, RVTgRegistered Veterinary Technician
Jenna is a new graduate RVT since 2020. She has over 5 years of emergency experience. She love her dog, cats, horses and betta fish. Also, enjoying being outdoors and reading books.
Skylar, VAVeterinary Assistant
Skylar is currently working toward her B.S in Veterinary Technology, scheduled to graduate in 2023. She loves spending time with her pup Lucifer, 10 months and two cats Meredith, 4 and Zola, 2. In her free time she likes to make jewelry, binge watch horror/crime movies. Her goal once she finishes her program is to get her license and continue growing as Veterinary Technician!
Emily, VAKennel Technician Supervisor
Emily has been in veterinary medicine since 2017. In addition to being our Kennel supervisor she has the ability to be a veterinary assistant and receptionist, she is a jack of all trades! Emily enjoys reading and hiking. She has three dogs Sassy, 5; Pepper, 4; Tora 3. Emily has a few unique phobias: herpetophobia (fear of lizards); sidonglobophobia (fear of cotton balls); amathophobia (fear of dust/dryer lint).
Anna, originally from Germany, is a receptionist at Houston Veterinary Clinic. She is a mom to two human boys and has two furry kids; Chopper & Lexi both pitbulls. Anna has been in the veterinary field for over a year. During Anna's free time she loves to ride her motorcycle, wave if you see her out and about town!
Dr.James K. Hilliard, Jr.
Dr. Hilliard is the owner of Houston Veterinary Clinic and has been practicing veterinary medicine for 39 years. A graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, he is pleased to provide high quality small animal care in the only AAHA certified animal hospital in Houston County.
Dr. Hilliard grew up on a dairy farm in Mitchell County and was surrounded by animals of all types during his youth. He is an avid fan of the University of Georgia Bulldogs, and boasts having visited every stadium in the SEC. He is married to his wife Barbara and is the father of three adult children and grandfather to two young grandsons.
Knox has worked at Houston Veterinary Clinic throughout the summers during high school (Warner Robins High School class of 2006) and college and started as a full time associate veterinarian in June 2015. He graduated with a B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Georgia in 2010 and from the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine with a D.V.M. in 2014. He completed a one year rotating medicine and surgery internship after graduating in 2014 in Nashville, Tennessee prior to returning back home to the family practice.
Tammy is a Licensed Veterinary Technician who graduated from Fort Valley State University and has worked at HVC for over 20 years. She is married to Scott and has a daughter named Delaney. They also share their home with Willow and Ryder, both Golden Retrievers, Ozzy, a schnauzer/poodle mix, and three adventurous kitties: Lily, Daisy, and Wilson. Tammy greatly enjoys being able to make a difference helping or saving someone's 'baby' and seeing that pet go home healthy and happy. Should she find some spare time, Tammy greatly enjoys scrapbooking, reading, working out and shopping.
Wendy started employment at Houston Veterinary Clinic in April 2015. She owns four cats: Oliver (11 year old Orange Tabby), Chloe (8 year old long hair Tabby), Pepper (7 year old black DSH) and Mitzi (a 1 year old grey and white DLH). She enjoys reading and hanging out with her kids (Connor and Ally) in her time away from work. She has always loved working with animals and states that she truly enjoys the camaraderie amongst the clinic staff as well as stealing their Peanut Butter M&Ms when nobody is watching. She is originally from West Virginia and has been married to her husband David for 25 years.
Gloria began working at Houston Veterinary Clinic near 40 years ago! She is the proud owner of a Papillon named Cricket. She loves sewing, embroidery and quilting in her free time. Gloria’s favorite thing about her job include getting to meet clients and observe their relationships with their pets. Gloria also enjoys riding on the motorcycle with her husband Ray.
You can find Summer at our front desk. Currently pursuing her SECOND Bachelors degree in Respiratory Therapy, following her B.S in Health Administration. She loves spending time with her pup Rory, knitting chunky blankets, shopping and building a Beta fish aquarium!
Philipp SultanKennel Technician
Philipp, originally from Germany, moved to America in May 2018. He Graduated from Veterans High School in May of 2021. Philipp began his employment with HVC in June of 2020. He is very passionate about caring for all animals and their needs. He enjoys lifting weights and listening to music in his free time. He spends most of his time here at HVC helping others and saving animals lives.
Keeleigh JonesKennel Technician
Keeleigh started her employment with HVC in March of 2021. She is currently attending FVSU working towards her veterinary technician degree. After graduating FVSU she plans to apply for UGA and get her Doctorial degree in Veterinary Medicine. Keeleigh has always had a love for animals. She got her first dog, Cookie age 14, when she was 6 years old. She has another dog named Gunnar, 1; and 2 cats, Tigger and Shadow. Keeleigh has also always had a love for softball. She enjoys playing and teaching younger girls with the Byron Rec. Department.
